Dr. Rindfleish provides cosmetic dentistry services to patients who need to restore their smiles. Restoration services are necessary when a patient suffers trauma or other problems resulting in tooth loss or the need to transform their smile to a more normal appearance. Bronxville Dental is committed to restoring smiles so our patients will feel better about themselves and be healthier. Cosmetic dentistry services include teeth whitening, veneers, crowns, dental implants, bridges, and fillings. The main goal of cosmetic dentistry is to improve the aesthetic appearance of teeth and gums. Some cosmetic services also improve functionality. Teeth whitening is for patients whose teeth are not as bright as they once were due to years of staining. Dr. Rindfleish will begin this procedure by cleaning your teeth. He will then cover your teeth with a special bleaching gel containing hydrogen peroxide while protecting your gums and other tissues from contacting the gel. The gel will remove stains over the next two hours. After removing the gel, another round of treatment may be necessary to attain the shade of white you desire. Crowns are porcelain caps that entirely cover a damaged or broken tooth to protect it and serve as a functional tooth. These caps also serve as the top of a dental implant post to replace a missing tooth. A crown usually lasts around ten years but can last longer if the patient takes good care of it. A dental veneer is a thin porcelain shell that fits over the front side of a tooth to cover discoloration, chipping, crookedness, and gaps on either side. Dr. Rindfleish may have to remove some enamel for the veneer to fit correctly before bonding it to your tooth. Fillings are made of composite materials and can match the color of a patient's tooth. Filling material seals damage such as cracks and cavities to improve the appearance of the tooth and to save it from further damage. Dr. Rindfleish will numb the area around the tooth, and remove any tooth decay before molding the filling to your tooth shape and bonding it in place. A bridge is a prosthetic device made of artificial teeth to replace teeth that are missing in a space between two natural teeth or dental implants. A crown is placed on each tooth on either side of the space to serve as an anchor for the bridge, which Dr. Rindfleish will cement into place. Dental implants are titanium posts that Dr. Rindfleish places in the socket where your missing tooth used to be. Over time, the post will fuse with the jawbone and will serve as the new "root" of your new tooth, which is a dental crown placed on top of the post. There are many reasons why patients need cosmetic dentistry to restore their smiles. Former smokers may need teeth whitening because their tobacco use stained their teeth. Some patients may need implants or a bridge to replace missing teeth that fell out due to trauma or illness. Regardless of the reason, Dr. Rindfleish has years of experience providing cosmetic dentistry treatment to patients. It's important that patients take care of their cosmetics. This means having a proper and thorough dental care routine that includes brushing, flossing, and routine dental checkups and cleanings. Being careful what you eat may also be necessary to prevent damage to veneers, crowns, and bridgework. Bronxville Dental is committed to providing our patients with the best care possible. That means making sure our patients know and understand all of their treatment options. To learn more about these cosmetic options, click one of them on the righthand section of your screen.
